The tour begins at 9:00 AM with a visit to the Temple of Qoricancha, which means “Golden Enclosure” and is also known as the Temple of the Sun. In this important Inca sanctuary, you will admire its impressive architecture and learn about its significance within the Andean worldview.
Next, the tour continues to the four archaeological sites located approximately 7 km northeast of Cusco. The first stop is Sacsayhuamán, an imposing megalithic structure with massive stone blocks weighing over 120 tons. Afterward, you will visit Q’enqo, an ancient ceremonial center featuring a large carved rock altar. The next stop is Pucapucara, a fortress that functioned as a checkpoint and Inca customs post.
Finally, you will explore Tambomachay, a sacred site where the Incas worshiped water through its intricate canals and stone fountains. After visiting these remarkable sites, the tour concludes with the return to Cusco at 12:30 PM.
