We’ll begin this unforgettable journey with a scenic 40-minute drive to the charming village of Chiguata. Upon arrival, enjoy a traditional breakfast while exploring the rich history of the village and its beautiful Baroque Church, an architectural gem nestled in the Andes.
From there, we’ll venture into the awe-inspiring Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas roam freely. At the stunning Salinas Lagoon, you’ll witness flamingos and migratory birds as the salt flats and shimmering water create surreal landscapes.
Next, we’ll head to the Queñuas Forest and Qaqawuasi Viewpoints for panoramic views of the breathtaking surroundings. To unwind, you can soak in natural thermal pools with soothing waters between 20°C and 24°C, perfect for easing any altitude discomfort as we climb to 4500 m.a.s.l.
We’ll end the day with fun perspective photos on the salt flats before heading back to Arequipa, arriving around 1:30 PM.
