FAQ's

Is accommodation included in the package?

No. The package covers daily hotel pickup, transport in modern vehicles and an English or Spanish-speaking guide across the four days. Hotels are not included, which keeps the package flexible if you already have somewhere booked. If you would rather we handled it, tell us your budget and preferred area and we will arrange the hotels for you.

Is the train to Machu Picchu included?

Yes. The train through the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes is part of the package price, along with all ground transport, daily hotel pickup and your guide across the four days. What sits outside the price are the entrance fees: the Cusco Tourist Ticket and the Machu Picchu ticket, which we purchase for you with your passport details.

How do the Machu Picchu tickets work?

We buy them for you. Send us the full names and passport numbers of everyone travelling when you book, and we secure the tickets in your names for the day of your visit. At the entrance you must present the same original passport used for the purchase, since copies and photos are not accepted, and the name has to match exactly. Entry runs on timed slots with a short grace period, so we build the last day around your assigned hour.

Which entrance fees are not included?

Two: the Cusco Tourist Ticket, which covers the city sites, the Sacred Valley and Moray, and the Machu Picchu entrance ticket, which we purchase on your behalf. Both are paid separately from the package price. We confirm the exact amounts before you travel so you know what to bring and what to transfer in advance.

Is four days enough to adjust to the altitude?

The order helps. You start in Cusco at 3,399 m with the city and its nearby ruins, then spend the following days in the Sacred Valley, which lies several hundred metres lower, and finish at Machu Picchu at 2,430 m, lower still. So the itinerary works downwards rather than upwards. Take the first afternoon gently, drink plenty of water, and go easy on alcohol for the first day or two.

What does this add over the three-day package?

An extra day for Maras and Moray: the salt ponds worked since Inca times and the circular agricultural terraces where the Incas tested crops at different microclimates. The three-day version covers Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu; this one adds the day that most travellers regret skipping.
