Day 1: Your adventure begins with pick-up starting at 8:00 AM from the historic center of Arequipa, followed by a scenic journey through the charming neighborhoods of Vallecito, Yanahuara, and Selva Alegre. We’ll head north towards the breathtaking Colca Valley, making stops along the way at Pampa Cañahuas (home to the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve and its magnificent vicuñas), Tocrapampa, where you can admire the local flora and fauna, and Patapampa, the viewpoint offering stunning vistas of the Ampato, Huallca Huallca, and Sabancaya volcanoes.
Upon arriving in Chivay, you’ll have the option to indulge in a delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant before checking into your chosen hotel. Enjoy some free time for acclimatization. In the evening, you may choose to unwind at the nearby thermal baths or experience an enchanting folkloric show with dinner (optional).
Day 2: Start your day with breakfast at the hotel at 6:00 AM, then embark on a journey to the spectacular Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, where you can witness the majestic flight of condors and marvel at the breathtaking depth of the Colca Canyon, the deepest in the world.
For the adventurous, optional hikes along the canyon’s beautiful trails will allow you to immerse yourself in the stunning landscape, observing the unique flora and high-altitude birds. On the return trip, we’ll stop in the traditional villages of Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque, each showcasing incredible Inca terraces, colonial churches, and artisanal centers. After a leisurely lunch, we will make our way back to Arequipa, arriving around 5:00 PM.
