FAQ's

Where does the ride start and finish?

We meet at Av. Jose Larco 724 in Miraflores, and the ride finishes in Barranco rather than back at the starting point, so plan a short taxi or a 25-minute walk back if your hotel is in Miraflores. There are two departures: 09:30 to 12:30 and 14:30 to 17:30.

How fit do I need to be?

Not especially. The route covers 16 km over three hours, most of it flat along the clifftop parks and the malecon, with a gentle descent towards the bay and a relaxed pace throughout. There are regular stops for photos and stories, so it is closer to a guided ride than a workout. You do need to be comfortable riding a bike, since you steer your own.

Is the bike included?

Yes: bike, helmet and water are all part of the price, along with your bilingual guide. Just bring comfortable clothes and closed shoes. If anyone in your group needs a particular frame size or a child’s bike, tell us when you book so we can check availability in advance.

What happens if it rains?

It essentially does not rain in Lima. The city sits in a coastal desert and gets a grey drizzle at most, usually between May and November, which does not interrupt the ride. What it does mean is that the mornings can feel cool and damp, so a light jacket is worth having with you even if it looks fine when you set off.

What will we see along the way?

The clifftop parks of Miraflores with the Pacific below, Parque Kennedy in the centre of the district, Parque del Amor with Victor Delfin’s sculpture of an embracing couple, then across into Barranco for the Puente de los Suspiros and the street art that fills the district. Three hours gives you a better sense of how Lima meets the ocean than any bus tour.
