A day into the Ocucaje desert, south of Ica, to the Lost Canyon (Cañón de los Perdidos): a crack in the desert carved by an old riverbed and shaped by the wind, about 1.5 km long and close to 150 meters deep. After almost two hours on a dirt track you walk along its edge on a sandy path, with fossils and salt deposits millions of years old along the way.
