Upriver to the lodge
- Pickup at Puerto Maldonado airport
- Road, then 45 km by boat up the Tambopata River, with lunch on board
- Afternoon walk among giant Brazil nut trees: capuchin monkeys, agoutis, toucans
- Night walk after dinner, looking for the night monkey

Lake Condenado and upriver to camp
- Morning canoe on Lake Condenado, home to giant otters
- After lunch, 2 hours upriver deep into the Reserve
- Dinner at the camp near El Chuncho clay lick
- Night walk on the riverbank: capybaras, caimans, tapirs and, with luck, a jaguar
- Sleep in tents by the river

- Leave before dawn to be in place when the birds arrive
- Red-and-green macaws, mealy parrots and blue-headed parrots on the clay
- Back at the lodge for lunch and an afternoon to rest
- Night: caiman search by boat

Children 6 to 12 pay half, under 6 stay free. The national park entrance ticket (about $20 per person) is paid on site.

Before you book your flights
Arrive in Puerto Maldonado before 1:00 pm on day 1 and leave after 12:30 pm on day 4. Transfers are shared with other lodge guests. Jungle flights can be delayed by weather, so travel insurance with flight cover is a must. This trip runs April to November and needs at least 2 travelers.
