Lima in November is mild and dry, and the grey of winter starts to lift. November 2026 is also unusually busy, with three international events in two weeks. Lima is our home base and we plan trips through it every week, so below is what the weather is really like, what’s on this year with exact dates, and how I’d use two days here.

Quick answer

  • Weather: around 17–21°C (63–70°F) and practically no rain. Mornings are often grey, afternoons get more sun as the month goes on.
  • Pack: light layers and a jacket for the evening. The Pacific is still too cold for most swimmers.
  • November 2026 is busy: The World’s 50 Best (Nov 4), the ISA World Surfing Games (Nov 6–15) and Pope Leo XIV in Lima (Nov 11, 12 and 16). Book hotels and big-name restaurants early.
  • Holiday: November 1 (All Saints’ Day) is a public holiday and the last Señor de los Milagros procession.
  • Time: two days cover Lima well. Our Lima 2-day plan starts from USD 197 per person, based on 2 travelers.

What is the weather like in Lima in November?

Lima in November averages a high of about 21°C (70°F) and a low of about 17°C (63°F), with almost no rain: SENAMHI’s 1991–2020 normals for Campo de Marte record just 0.5 mm for the whole month (climate table). It’s spring here, so the grey sky of winter (the garúa) starts to lift and the sun comes out more often, mostly after midday.

What that means on the ground: you’ll walk the Malecón in a T-shirt at noon and want a light jacket after sunset, because the ocean breeze and the humidity make evenings feel cooler than the number says. Don’t bring rain gear. Do bring sunscreen: even on cloudy days the sun is strong this close to the equator.

The beach season hasn’t started yet. The water is cold, and most limeños wait until December or January to swim. Surfers are in the water all year with wetsuits.

Is November a good time to visit Lima?

Yes. November is one of the easiest months to visit Lima. It’s dry and less grey than June to October, and cheaper and calmer than the summer from December to April, when the city is sunny and hot and hotels near the beach fill up.

The only catch in 2026 is that November is unusually busy. Between the 50 Best week, the Pope’s visit and the World Surfing Games, central hotels and the famous restaurants will be in demand from early in the month. If your dates are flexible, the last week of November should be the calmest.

November 2026 events in Lima

These are the plans from my What’s on in Lima guide for this year, in date order. Dates are from the organizers and official sources as of October 24, 2026.

Perú Mucho Gusto: October 30 to November 1

PromPerú’s food fair brings cooks from Peru’s 25 regions to one place, at the Explanada de la Costa Verde in Magdalena del Mar, with free entry. It’s the easiest way to try Amazon, Andean and northern dishes in one afternoon without leaving Lima. Go at lunchtime on Friday if you can; the weekend gets very crowded. Check the latest details on perumuchogusto.com.

Last Señor de los Milagros procession: Sunday, November 1

The Señor de los Milagros, Lima’s biggest religious festival, closes its 2026 season on Sunday, November 1, with the fifth and last procession from the Santuario de las Nazarenas along Avenida Tacna, Jirón Callao and Jirón Chancay (El Peruano). Thousands of people in purple follow the image all day, and vendors sell turrón de Doña Pepa on every corner.

It’s worth seeing for an hour, but don’t plan a Historic Center tour that day: streets close and traffic around the center is slow. November 1 is also a public holiday (All Saints’ Day).

The World's 50 Best Restaurants: November 3 and 4

For the first time, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants holds its awards in South America: the 2026 ranking is revealed in Lima on November 4, with #50BestTalks on November 3 (The World’s 50 Best). The ceremony is for the industry, but the public can buy tickets to the Signature Sessions, dinners where chefs from ranked restaurants cook with local teams.

Our tip: that week, tables at Central, Maido, Kjolle and Mayta disappear first. If one of them is the reason for your trip, book as soon as reservations open for your date, and have a plan B in Barranco or Miraflores.

ISA World Surfing Games at Punta Rocas: November 6 to 15

The 2026 ISA World Surfing Games run from November 6 to 15 at Punta Rocas and El Bosque, in Punta Negra, south of Lima, and they’re one of the first qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics (ISA). Heats run from sunrise to sunset, and finals day is Sunday, November 15.

Punta Rocas is about an hour’s drive from Miraflores without traffic. As of October, no ticket or spectator rules had been announced, so check the ISA site before you go. A taxi there is easy; getting one back in the afternoon is not, so I’d book a car for the round trip.

Big concerts: November 7, 13 and 14

November 2026 has four large concerts in Lima:

Date Artist Venue
Sat Nov 7 Juan Luis Guerra + Carlos Vives Estadio San Marcos
Fri Nov 13 Hardwell (with Mike Williams) Costa 21, San Miguel
Fri Nov 13 Cypress Hill Coliseo Eduardo Dibós
Sat Nov 14 Airbag Estadio San Marcos

Tickets for Hardwell, Cypress Hill and Airbag are sold through Teleticket. Buy only from the official seller; resale sites charge a lot more and fake tickets are common. On concert nights, leave early: traffic around Estadio San Marcos and Costa 21 gets stuck for hours.

Pope Leo XIV in Lima: November 11, 12 and 16

Pope Leo XIV, who spent more than 20 years in Peru and holds Peruvian nationality, visits Peru from November 11 to 16, 2026, with events in Lima, Callao, Chiclayo, Cusco and Pucallpa. His trip was in doubt after surgery in October, but the apostolic nuncio confirmed it on October 21 (EWTN News). Times below are from the official agenda in El Peruano.

The public moments in Lima:

  • Wednesday, Nov 11: arrival at the Callao naval base at 17:30, welcome at the Government Palace at 18:15.
  • Thursday, Nov 12: meeting at the square in front of Lima Cathedral at 11:30, and a youth vigil at the Estadio Monumental at 18:00.
  • Monday, Nov 16: farewell Mass at the Las Palmas Air Base at 10:30.

On Sunday, November 15, he’s in Cusco (Sacsayhuamán and the Cathedral square in the morning), which matters if you’re there that day, and he flies back to Lima that night.

What it means for your trip: expect road closures and heavy security around the Historic Center on November 11 and 12, and around Surco and the airport routes on November 16. Do your center tour on another day and leave extra time to get to the airport.

Every week: La Noche and La Feria in Barranco

Not every good plan is on a poster. These two are in every edition of my Lima guide:

  • La Noche de Barranco: a bar and music venue in an old Barranco mansion with live bands most nights, and free jazz on Mondays, a tradition since 1998. Go for a chilcano and stay for the second band.
  • La Feria de Barranco (Jirón Unión 108): a market of local designers, food stalls and live music, with free entry, open Wednesday to Sunday in the afternoon and evening. It’s where limeños actually shop for gifts, and a much better stop than the souvenir markets.

Both are a few blocks from each other, so an afternoon at La Feria and a night at La Noche works well together, and our Barranco walking tour (from USD 69) is a good way to get your bearings first.

How many days do you need in Lima in November?

Two days are enough for most travelers in November: one for the Historic Center and Barranco, one for Miraflores and the food. With one day, do the center in the morning and Barranco in the afternoon. In 2026, plan your days around the events: keep the center away from November 1, 11 and 12.

This is how I’d split it:

That’s exactly our Lima 2-day plan, from USD 197 per person based on 2 travelers: private, with guides and hotel pickup in Miraflores. We move the days around whatever’s on that week.

Mistakes to avoid in Lima in November

  • Booking late in 2026. Hotels in Miraflores and the top restaurants will be busy during the 50 Best week and the Pope’s visit. Book as soon as you have dates.
  • Planning the center on the wrong day. November 1, 11 and 12 are the days to avoid the Historic Center.
  • Underestimating traffic. Jorge Chávez airport is 45 to 60 minutes from Miraflores on a normal day, more on event days. Book your airport transfer in advance, especially at night.
  • Packing for summer beach days. November is warm at noon but not beach weather yet, and the sea is cold.

Lima in November and the rest of your Peru trip

November is a good month for the coast and the start of the rainy season in the Andes. In Cusco, showers become more frequent through the month but rarely ruin a whole day, and the crowds are smaller than in July. Machu Picchu tickets still need to be booked well ahead, ideally two months or more; here’s how to buy Machu Picchu tickets under the new rules.

Lima is at sea level, so it’s a good first stop before the altitude. If you’re flying to Cusco next, read how to order your route to acclimatize. And if you want sun, Paracas and Huacachina, about four hours south, are dry and sunny in November.
